I have a 98 silverado 5.7 went to start truck and starter blew up. installed new starter cranks really rough seems like it's trying to backfire? Any suggestions?

Did you check the teeth on the flywheel out? Might be the new starter. Lots of Asian remanufactured junk being sent here.
