Can't seem to open the center console/armrest. Any idea as how to go about getting this opened. I viewed an Youtube video on how to prevent this from happening , but I have found nothing on what to do to get it open when it's stuck.

 

i know this is old. but more people have to have this problem.

i have the same situation. one guy on you tube said that you can use a screw driver to jiggle the latch and eventually pry it open. but i haven't had any luck.

did you find anything out?

my solution was a little different. i couldn't get the thing open at all. but the video that i watched he was able to get it open using a screwdriver like stated above. that person just threw out that plastic thing you push in and leaves it open. then reaches in and manually pushes that latch down. so that is what i am doing for now. maybe if i come across one at a junkyard or someone selling one, then i could fix it.
