Default TBI > Vortec swap advice?

Does anyone have experience with doing this? I have a '93 Suburban C1500 TBI engine with 190K miles. I think I'd like to use it in the future to haul a travel trailer so I'm going thru it. Steering first. It has a rebuilt 4L60E tranny. With a swap I'm concerned about accessories bolting up to the Vortec. e.g. AC, power steering, alternator etc. If everything was basically plug and play, my thought was to reduce downtime in my driveway and garage by finding a rebuildable Vortec with the correct heads and set it up with better cam, lifters, rockers and so on. Nothing crazy.
I know the intakes are different on the Vortec. To use the old TBI I'd have to use a custom manifold. Not sure what my NA induction options are without spending a bundle. Carburetor perhaps? That sounds like going in the wrong direction for a highway vehicle.
Any thoughts, comments, advice?

Wow. Not much help on this site. Seems most posts get about 3-4 replies average.
