Default Transmission issue

Hi everyone! I have a question about my 1995 silverado,I've been putting a lot of miles on it for work and when I got home it sat for a hour then got back in to run a errand, after I put it in drive and started moving a loud sound started coming from the t case or trans, the kind of sound like when you try and lock it in 4 and it grinds a bit, but it is in two not stuck half way in, it's getting worse and parked it to not cause further damage to anything, any ideas on what it could be?

Sounds like a trans case problem. You might want to verify it has not come out or part way out of the feature selected.

I went out and put it in 4 lo and hi then back to two wheel, it still does it, it's not all the time but intermittent when I'm accelerating, it's a automatic trans.
