Washer pump not working
Hello All-
Just picked up a 96 Silverado 4x4- 5.7 auto. Needs some things, but runs pretty well. One of my issues is that the washer pump isn't working. Wipers work, but pump doesn't. As far as I can see, there is not a separate fuse for the washer, just one for the wipers. Pump runs if I hook it up to 12v. Wiring harness to the pump looks OK.
Did just replace the multi-function switch, but pump wasn't working before that, so don't think that's the problem.
Hoping this might be a "quirk" of this truck and there might be an easy answer- Thoughts?
Thanks-
Brady

All on one circuit. When you apply battery voltage to the pump, are you unhooking the connector to the pump, or splicing the wires to the connector? If you have a test light or meter, unhook the connector to the pump check for voltage, if none, wiring issue upstream, if you have voltage at the connector, clean the connector with electrical cleaner.
Thanks for the reply. I tested the pump directly- not in the harness at all. I was going to try to test the little "pigtail" harness with the pump plugged into it, but I don't have small enough test leads to get to the small contacts on the harness and 12V power. I do have a test meter so I can try that. Probably time to invest in some good test leads...
