Default WIndshield Washer Spray Nozzle

My pickup has a windshield sprayer that has a focus upon the bottom of the glass. It never gets up to the center area. The sprayer nozzle does not appear to be adjustable. Here is a pick:

It is the little black block in the center of the pic.

How is this supposed to be adjusted? Anyone have any idea?

Thanks.

Does this whole louvered piece have to be replaced? Can the spray nozzles be replaced?

Don't think this can be adajusted; looks like what I have on my 93 Suburban. Pull the cowling, only takes a few screws, see if it can be removed. Might find a new one in a wrecking yard.
What's the problem with yours??

It sure looks that way to me too. It just sprays too low.

I was able to find that the nozzles are in what is called theAir Inlet Grille Panel or Cowl Vent Grill Panel (that last name according to the service manual). When looking at the part pictures on the 'Web it does not seem to have the nozzles.

I looked with a flashlight quite closely and could not see that the nozzles are separate. But maybe the cowl grill must be removed first to see.

I think the nozzle is an insert that comes in from the back of the cowl. It is pretty clear in my closeup photo I just took on my 1996. Pardon 30 years of UV damage and oxidation... but the material around the nozzle seems separate from the cowling, and I can wiggle it around in the cowling opening just slightly.

Wow! That's good news. That makes me justify taking my panel off and taking a closer look. Thanks much.

My only concern in looking at that close up of my nozzles is that the plastic nozzle falls apart when taken out. Let us know what happens!

Here is a conversation I just found over at gmt400.com, another forum I visit...

So, okay then. You found a wonderful forum on the subject. I liked it a lot. Thanks for that. It described the disassembly as I sort of expected it to be. And of course I had the wipers off when painting the truck.

The nozzles are a bit of a surprise. It found the ones you linked, but thought they didn't look like the correct shape. However, the whole deal may look different once the panel is removed.

I am tempted to just replace them and the tubing if I go to all that trouble of disassembly. I don't ever want to do it again.

Thanks again. Much appreciated.
