Default Z71 is over heating. with steam coming out A/C vents

Just got my husband truck from shop for 2nd time. Went in to have new a/c system put in, plugs, wires, and distributor cap replaced. Now the truck is temp is moving to middle instead of running at about a 1/4. Husband steam came in thru a/c vents. Is this a thermostat problem or A/C.

Does the steam smell like antifreeze?

the shop changed out his thermostat for some reason. but that only fixed the fact that temp was register mid way, the windshield is still fogging up

Sounds like time for a new heater core if you are smelling antifreeze and steam in cab

Thank you. That is what I think too. It may be what is wrong with mine too. I use a lot of water, but no leak in hoses, no water in oil. I hear water that sounds like it is coming from heater box underdash.
