'02 Z71 Suburban Front End Clunking
Hello,
I've got a 2002 Suburban with 220xxx miles on it, and recently it's been making a wild clunking noise from the front end at low speeds. Feels like driver's side.
You can feel the clunk at low speeds, and it gets way worse when turning. Tires have also crow-hopped occasionally when I turn sharply as if I'm in 4wd, but I'm positive that I'm only in 2wd. The clunk speeds up and slows down relative to wheel speed, but doesn't turn into a hum or groan at highway speeds. It also clunks whenever I hit a bump.
Any ideas what this might be? I am thinking a cv joint or maybe wheel bearing?
Any input would be greatly appreciated. I'll try to get a recording of it after work and post it here.
