03 2500 hd. Air conditioning
New blower resistor. Then a blower.. Actuators...blend doors. Climate controls.. Spent over 3k to get my ac working... 2x in the chevy dealer and all i got was 2 hours of air and back to square one and riding in the heat... All other repair shops vetify that all components are good.. Any ideas people?
Yup! $440 in the toilet at a Chevy Dealer. Worked for a few months now not even able to turn it on. I really dislike the HVAC in this truck. Too automated. Click on the button and the light that should show AC on does not. I have a pretty basic OBD Scanner which says that I have a problem specific to an actuator (Sorry it's late and I can not remember the exact code). So I'm wondering if there is something in the ECU that relays info to the AC that just shuts it off if there is any part of the system which is failing. Makes me miss my Old 91 which was a pretty basic set up with slider switches and *****. Buttons and computers and cash cash cash and still baking in the heat is not for me. Do you have any of your own AC Tools I have a basic High Side low Side Gauge and just feed more coolant in through the low side and make sure I do not get too much in. Then check a few days later and see if it's all gone. I would bet that somebody is not finding a leak in your system and all the parts swapping was probably not necessary. I am a parts swapper myself not a mechanic. But I manage to completely swap out everything in my old rig including converting to the new refrigerant and it all went okay and worked fine. One would think that an Authorized Dealer with all the test equipment they have could fix it for you. Did they not guarantee any of their work?
