While im driving my truck will make a slight shudder, then I lose acceleration power. If I step on the gas it just keeps revving high and hard. The first couple of times it stopped cutting out as long as I had fuel injector cleaner, but now it's doing it more frequently, whether I have cleaner in or not. Sometimes it only does it once, sometimes it does it numerous times. Sometimes after I cut it off it will crank up and drive correctly, sometimes it takes a couple of times to get it to start correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

What engine is in it. When is the last tune up on the truck. Fuel filter, air filter, plugs, wires, etc. Start with the simple stuff first.

 

It has the 5.3L V8. It hasnt been that long ago that I did a tuneup and also changed the fuel pump and fuel filter.

 

Almost sounds like you got some water in the fuel. It happens sometimes. If you have a scanner see if there are any code. I would also pull the full filter since it is easy to get to and pour the contents into a jar. Flush it with carb cleaner and air to get all of it out. Check fuel pressure also. Also being that is still a returnless fuel system pull the vacuum hose off the pressure regulator and if you smell gas then it is bad.
