05 Silverado 2500HD 6.0 knock sensor help
I had this problem on my 'O4 2500HD 6.0. At @70K the knock sensors
all started to go bad, but it was just the actual sensor units.
Frankly, I was afraid to rip apart the intake just to replace the
knock sensors, for fear of creating more problems than I would fix.
The knock sensors tell your PCM all it's going to need or ever use
by @15K miles, so at that point they're basically worthless, anyway.
My truck was getting great mileage, after some mods, and I was
worried that the top end might never be the same, once I
R & R'ed it.
You may handle it however you want, but I'm at 220K now, same
crappy knock sensors, and engine still runs great...
