Default Worth fixing 2002 Silverado?

I let someone drive my truck and she slid into a pole and I don't think insurance will cover it. I know anything can be fixable with the given amount of work and money, but with 200000 on the engine would this truck be worth fixing? There's about 15 add ons so I'd rather my scrap it if it wouldn't be too much to get back on the road? Input please!

Can't tell how much damage there is to the rear axle, but i think it will cost more to fix than the truck is worth at this point.

unfortunate as that is a nice bodystyle.

insurance co would write it off. cheaper to get another truck. it got hit hard to break the leaf spring. the body work alone is $5000 and there is still suspension and probable structural damage.

salvage what you can, part out the rest and find a nice replacement from an area outside of the rust belt.

The rear axel doesn't look like its damaged, the frame seems to be okay too I would have to change the rear end and fixing the cab would likely be the worst of it.. A lot of work, should I just try to sell it for parts ?

the cab would have to be pulled (not remove; pulled to straighten the body) and then a new panel sectioned in. that is probably 3000 without paint from a body shop.

if you have a lot of time and feel up for it. not me. I could buy a 2006 for $4-5G in my area.
consider all options before you start to repair this.

Hey, Samsapple,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

I moved this thread from the "Introductions" section to where it

belongs.

IMO, Tech2 is right, it's a shame, but that's a pretty substantial

hit...
