06 cluster issue
I have an Silverado 5.3l. Started with the radio not coming on until after driving for 10 minutes or so. Now the cluster started going out randomly and lights abs, brake, security etc come on. Sometimes it goes off and on several times. Today the lights come on and all guages work but battery Guage. Radio came on but digital light goes out. Doesn't seem to affect the operation of the vehicle.
Cluster and Radio are two very different things.
1) make sure your battery is good
2) make sure your engine grounds are clean and firm
3) check your voltage when engine is off then running. they should only be so far apart. we're testing the voltage regulation
1,2,3) either of these can cause strange issues so they are done FIRST
4) you have fuse panel: USE THEM. good mechanics use fuse panels to find out WHICH BRANCH the problem is on by isolating the problem. your problem is 20 times easier to find if you know which branch it is on before chasing it down
5) fuse panels can be bad on the back side hope you find one - it's RARE. However: the wiring panel near the brake pedal (no fuses, just a wiring block) - the wiring block can be a bit "rickety" and cuase lost grounds or power - which would cause all kinds of problems
6) make sure your Cluster isn't effected by the Radio - unhook the radio fuse and even take off your dash and unplug your radio. ME? I leave it unplugged and use my iPhone for music. And i NEVER charge my iPhone in a cigarette jack - they are famous for shorting the battery and other issues - on all cars not just chevy.

I'm having similar issues with my 2007 G2500 Chevy Express, & I was wondering if You found out what was causing the problems.
