Need help with 2000 Silverardo
I have a 2000 Silverado with the 5.3 and it has a few problems that I have been trying to work on for a while with no success. It has no fuel gauge after replacing pump, and the temperature gauge does not work either. It has 3 lights on the message center for security, battery and low fuel constantly cycling between the 3. The obd2 port powers up the scan tool but does not communicate. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
If,,,,,,,,,,the problems started showing up after the fuel pump assy was replaced, it may be time to recheck the work done.
Always a good first move to check all the fuses for an open fuse. If one is found , that system needs to be thoroughly checked out to determine why the fuse is opening.

That would mean it's time for a new gauge cluster, I've owI'd my 03 suburban for 3 years and have gone through three of them, had an 05 Silverado for a year replaced it once, had an 03 Silverado replaced it twice. Fact of the matter, they go out constantly and it's a common problem, I always go to the junk yards and find working ones because they typically only charge 20-30 bucks so i can buy 3-4 for the price of one remaned one. Nothing wrong with anything else you have I guarantee it.
