Pulled trans and transfer case to change adapter plate between them. Installed it and filled it with fluid-then had no movement in any gear, and it would grind going into park. It would also roll in park. I messed around with it for a bit and tried the tcm reset procedure (turn keyon, floor the accelerator, and then turn they key off) and then it started working. Drove the truck around the farm for a day and then decided to change a rusty brake line. I let the truck idle in park for about an hour while I bled the brake system and after that it wouldn’t move again.
ive checked linkages to trans and transfer case and tried the tcm reset many times
anyone have any ideas?

 

From what you describe, the trans is working , but the transfer case sounds like it is hanging up in neutral and that is why it grinds attempting to put in park with the engine running.You need to determine why the transfer case is not fully engaging.
