2000 Silverado - power to cab is always on
2000 Silverado 2500HD 4x4 6.0 gas. As part of repairing a drilled out ignition lock cylinder (thieves) the technician replaced the wiring harness. Since then the radio, wipers, headlights, windows, indicators can be activated without the key in ignition. Battery is always draining and often won't start. Have to charge it AND often results in the battery going bad, luckily warranty replaces it.
In my head there could be a crossed/wrong connection to the instrument panel fuse box? Just an amateur guess. I hesitate to take it back to the same shop, it took them 6 weeks the first time. I took it to another place and they didn't seem confident - maybe due to the truck's age.
Any suggestions before I take it to another shop? I've considered a remote controlled switch on the battery but imagine I'd end up with problems, they look janky. Thanks for reading!
