Default 2001 2500 HD tail light/blinker

My tail lights are very Dim when i push the brake pedal it kills all the lights in the rear other than the cab light. Also with the lights on the blinker indicators are lit as shown in the picture. I just bought the pickup. 2001 silverado 2500 HD 8.1 6 speed manual 4x4. I suspect the junction box in the back. Any input?

My nephew took the picture while I was driving. All gauges work fine.

the junction block? (the one behind brake pedal - which i've once found an issue with but think i repaired). that's quite a move considering you've not diagnosed the issue yet.

i think the poster above, mentioning ground, would say:

* find the fuse it's on. pull it. press on the brakes. what happens?

* what does the IPC (cluster) do when there is a brake problem? it shows feedback. it might be showing you there is a wiring problem.

i would NOT say "instrument cluster issue" or "body control" or abs or steering column. i would say "bulb or ground issue". why is because nothing above tells me every other avenue has been tried. i have no idea if you changed the bulb with the right one, if have a tow trailer light hookup, have really checked your grounds (ie, the one between cabin and bed is good to clean), etc.
