Hi! I don’t know much about cars so any help is appreciated. My 01 Silverado single cab has some suspension issues in the rear. I recently had the whole front end suspension replaced as well as the rear shocks. The problem now is the truck has had some aftermarket air bags installed In the rear to help with towing But they are now popped. I don’t tow anything with the truck so my question is do I need to replace the bags or can I simply take them out along with the bump stop piece that’s causing the ride to be really rough? Or can I install some springs in the rear instead? I have access to a 2001 Chevy suburban that I can grab the rear springs off if need be. Thanks for any help!

As long as the mounts for the leaf springs are still there (2 on the frame, 1 on the axle per side), there’s no issue in swapping back to springs; however, if it were me, I’d just get new springs rather than used (unless the used ones didn’t have a lot of miles/hauling on them). I don’t see the point in going through the project just to put used springs on that may be worn out.
If the axle mounts were removed or modified, you can get replacement brackets that can be welded on.
