New to the forum. Just got a 2001 Silverado 1500 Base in very good condition. My problem is the AC/Heater module. It works fine for a little while and then the two lights on the right side of the module (Outside - Recirculate) come on and the A/C or heat shuts down. Sometimes turning the fan control to off will cause them to reset and sometimes I need to turn off the ignition to get it to reset. I am considering ordering a new/used module but would like to hear if this is a common problem and whether or not it's the module or maybe something else.

 

i'd make sure its not just a bad connection causing the module to lose power before you throw money at a new module
