2002 2500 HD factory 7 pin trailer connector
My truck with the 7 pin wiring connector installed. Lest week i realized that there is no voltage coming through any of the wires for the trailer. My tail lights on the truck all work as expected but nothing at the trailer connector. I have checked the wires a couple of feet above the connector, still in the harness, an there is nothing there either. i do have an electric brake controller but unplugging that seems to make no difference. I cannot find where the tail light harness separates from the brake harness so I can verify connection there. Any suggestions on why I may have lost the connectivity in the harness or where everything splits off?
Just additional information - I did have someone back into the left rear quarter panel and dented the panel. I am not sure if that could be related.

On my 2006 Silverado, all the wiring at the rear, including the trailer hookups, plug into a box mounted on the rear left frame, just behind the axle. If you have that, I would test things at those connectors. If the 2002 doesn't have that box, then it's a lot more different than the 2006 than I thought.
I don't see a dent in the side of the truck affecting the trailer wiring. And the brake controller would not affect the trailer lights - it just generates voltages for the electrically controlled trailer brakes.
