Default 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 - noise at low speeds and cold weather

Mileage 199K
Tires are aligned, oil change was a month ago and shocks we're completely replaced this past summer.

Noise started about 2 weeks ago, when weather went below 20F. It usually happens during slow turns, cruising at low speeds, and fades to nothing at high speeds and warmer weather (such as a jump into the 30s).

My mechanic tried twice to resolve the issue, but was unsuccessful. Presently, I hope to get a second opinion...and perhaps another mechanic.

It's freaking COLD outside. I don't understand all of these complaints. Try driving and old air-powered Semi-truck from the 1960's to the 1980's. I can guarantee you that you'll LOVE your Chevy after driving an old rig from days gone by. The new rigs are all electrical, like a .Chevy pickup truck, and everything works when you need it to. The new rigs are like a Chevrolet pickup trucks, and most now come with an "Auto-Shift" Transmission, which I hate, but the I am old-school, and can easily shift gears by floating them, as most truckers do. I can get up to freeway speeds much faster with a 10 to 21 speed manual transmission..

Do not try to float your *synchronized* manual transmission, unless your clutch takes a dump..Semi-trucks with a manual transmission are not synchronized, so you need to learn how to shift them. Double-clutch when you take the drivers test. After that you can learn to float the gears, as 95 percent of us always did, before the auto-s** t tranny's came out. If you test on an auto-tranny, you will NOT be allowed to use or drive a semi-truck with anything, but auto-s**t..Big red "A" right on your CDL..
