Default 2004 2500HD after market radio install

Installing a Pioneer AVH-210EX with a Vehicle adapter harness supposedly for a 2004 HD. Wired it in and it does not work. Checked voltages on the truck side at the connector. Found a constant 12V like I should but no accessory 12V. Has anyone overcome the wiring to get an after market radio installed. Thanks.

Just did a different model Pioneer in a 03 Blazer. it worked great. The accessory 12 volts is only on with the key on. I had to solder the adapter plug to the wires from the new radio. Just matched them color to color and all was fine.

Default 2004 Aftermarket radio install

Thanks for the input. I did solder wire to wire and it didn’t work. I had the key on for accessories but on the vehicle side connector I could not find the 12 v. With key off and at all times I have the constant 12v. Should have constant 12 v and with key on 12 v accessories but I don’t. The vehicle adapter I bought said it was for my truck I’m suspecting it’s not. Still doesn’t explain why I don’t have 12 v accessories on the vehicle side.

With key on the wire that should have 12 volts is yellow. With key off the yellow wire should be dead. If it is dead all the time you must have either a break in the wire or a blown fuse. Was it working with the old radio?
