2003 Chevrolet Silverado Will Not Crank
After removing passenger door switch, truck continued to run. However, once the switch was put back in, the truck no longer cranks. The windows and door locks no longer function. The door chime will only go off twice. The security light does not stay on.
We have tried disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. Turning the key to on position for ten minutes also does nothing.
Fuses under the hood and in the dash have been swapped around and checked.
The truck appears to be stuck in anti-theft mode, but as previously noted, the security light is not on.
A scanner has been hooked up to the truck, but it is not reading.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Replace the switch - or, as it’s technically called, the “passenger door module.” The early 2000’s models had a faulty switch (module) design that caused a short to ground on the data circuit. Since the PCM, BCM and security modules need to communicate to allow starting, the short caused no-start and no communication conditions. I can’t recall if it was limited to the passenger side only or if the driver side had issues too - maybe try replacing the passenger side first and see if that corrects it.
