Default 2004 Chevrolet Silverado security system

I've noticed that it's starting to increase over time but here's my issue: 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.... when I go to push the ignition key in and start it , it won't start due to the yellow flashing security light. Then I have to sit in the truck, turn the ignition key on and wait for the security light to stop flashing. Take key out and then the truck starts. It's not doing this all the time but I'm noticing it more. The key has no chip in it and the truck is all OEM with nothing installed new like a radio, etc. Is there an OHM piece in the ignition electronics that could be going bad or what?

If you use the wrong resistor but it's close, it will still work but the security light will just stay on.
