I have a 2005 silverado Ls 2wd with a good motor that has 142,000 miles and a good transmission but it's really beat up and needs alot of body work. The bed needs to be replaced, the whole body is dented, scratched and rusting, bumper needs to be replaced, all fenders need to be replaced and my truck color is red so finding all these parts will be hard. I found a 2005 z71 same color for 2,500. The body condition is not perfect but looks brand new compared to mine. The thing is that it has 240,000 miles and bad a trans. Can I take my motor and trans from my Ls and put them in the z71?
