Default 4th gear low RPM lurching feeling and rpm drop

So what started as the AC slugging - or so we thought. The compressor finally seized, and we’ve been waiting on our mechanic to heal up & only making necessary trips. We keep the AC off, as it’s hot as ***** in Florida currently & there’s no point in having the heat on lol

That solved the slugging issue for a week or so. But now occasionally after the truck was warmed up, I’d tell my wife I still feel it doing what it was previously. The RPM’s slightly fluctuating almost like a slight miss, but you could literally feel the truck lugging, or lurching at low RPM, like it was struggling to take off. If you give it gas lightly, but not to the point of downshifting, it will almost die out, and the shuttering gets worse, as do the RPM fluctuations.

Never jumping, the rpm’s take an ever so slight dip, but with the straight pipes, with no cats, you can hear it and even feel it moreso that watch the dash to know it’s happening.

If it downshifts to third, or we are traveling at speeds above the 50-65 range, it runs clear, with little to no signs of the miss, or lurching feeling. Only happening when the truck shifts to 4th and rpms go low.

Any ideas on what gives? Recent repairs include MAF sensor, MAP sensors, fuel filter, and TBPS. I’ve put off O2 sensors admittedly wanting to fix exhaust manifold bolts being broken off by bonehead previous owner, when I tackle the sensors.

Trans fluid is admittedly a little high on the stick-possibly, but could just be residual showing up in tube, but level seems to be fine, and it’s red, not black & doesn’t smell burnt. Certainly not low.

Now the wife wants to get a can of god only knows what (Lucas brand ofcourse), and see what happens. I’d rather drain and fill with filter replacement and start from there, as I know any additive is just a bandaid that’s gonna make a permanent fix harder to diagnose, and properly fix. Transmission isn’t my forte, but I’m willing to tackle it. Lost and any ideas would be appreciated before I attempt to throw money I don’t have, as I’ve already spent enough to burn a wet mule and I’m no further along than I started.

Year, Make, Model, Trim Level, Engine, mileage, and any and all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

Add NOTHING to the transmission fluid except transmission fluid! 99+% of the stuff is snake oil (including Lucas products despite their advertising).
