Default 99 Silverado Z71

Hello. Im new in this forum, just purchased an old 99 z71 and would like to get to know and pick the best chevy teck folks brains. I am a self made weekend wrencher and I love to get down on honda's, acura's and toyota's. So I am very excited and optimistic working on this old truck. I have always wanted and needed a truck for work and play, but this truck is gonna be project Im willing to work at it diligently. My first issue is my tranny is going into limp mode on 3rd and D, 1st and 2nd gears appear to be strong and holding. Gonna hit the search bar and start doing research ASAP! If you have any expert advise, feel free to get at me with ideas and knowledge. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.

Im having a similar issue with my Silverado and what l found so far is this:
1. Check your tcm fuse to make sure its still good.
2. Change shift solenoids.
3. Change speed shift sensor.
I've done all these but my ob2 sensor says my shift solenoid A is stuck on
Thats as far as I got. I hope this helps you out. Good luck

I was able to revive my Optimal AGM battery, but no codes came up. Maybe the TCM needs to circulate. I only did a visual on fuses and relays and check every the wire harness on top to bottom towards the tranny. I'm heading towards swapping out low and high packs. If anyone can point me towards an awesome sticky or a DYI video, I would appreciate it. Also. I don't have a tranny floor jack, I'm in Davis California 95618, I can sure use a loaner.
Thanks

Im back. Been do a lot research on this tranny job. Anyone purchase a "500KGT Trans Adaptor", or used one in the past or has pos or neg feedback on the adaptor. Is it even strong and worth enough to handle the weight of a 4L60E and transfer case.
Do post up before I get started.
Thank you
