Abs and brake lights on
I have a 01 2wd ext cab long bed and the abs and brake lights are on I do know I have enough fluid and I just replaced front pads and rotors only thing is that the parking brake doesn't work could that be why it's throwing those lights? Need help asap
Welcome from Florida. The brake light could be on because there is a problem with the ABS. Did this just start after the work was done? Usually it is an ABS sensor causing the problem. You can take them out and clean them which works sometimes. You might have to replace them or worst of all the ABS will have to be replaced.
The lights were on when I bought the truck but there was nothing really left of right rotor so I bought 2 new ones an hour after buying it it stops and runs perfect no (cel) light doesn't over heat ect.. It has 212k on the dash body is in 75% exalant condition I'd really would have hate to feel like I threw 750 down the drain if it'd need more work the what I paid for her 😰
I have driven our 93 Suburban for years with ABS light on, no problem & a common complaint posted here.. As for the other brake light, I would want to further diagnose that problem. There are several items that will turn it on - parking brake switch, fluid level indicator, proportioning valve (I think) ...
I can almost guarantee that the ABS Computer Control underneath the driver side under the floorboard area is rusted and has corrosion/water in it. I have to replace mine as well. After a series of shaking my head, along with actualy mechanics looking at it, along with a lot of reading online this is what it is. The unit itself goes for under $200.00 online and even a non-wrenching person like me I believe can replace it out if you are willing to get a little bit dirty. May as well run stainless steel lines while your at it.
