ac not cold help.
I have a 2000 chevy silverado with 4.8 vortex the ac iss to be very cold is just cool now the right side line under truck is very cold after running min and other is warm to hot. Everything is factory nothing every changed other the belt on compressor was change for bracking fuse in past blown. All fuses for hvac and ac is good. What elese can i check. Thanks god bless. And yes my compressor kicks on and off when the ac is on not cold air kinda cool to normal vent air.

Sounds like you may be low on "freon" (R-134a gas). Probably a slow leak somewhere. I would take it to an automotive AC tech. They can use dye to look for leaks then repair and recharge. You could do this yourself but you will need special equipment like an AC manifold system.
on my 04 imp i just had this issue. cold on passengers side and warmer as you moved left. i have a manifold gauge set but i cant hook the lower side up as its too close to the firewall, the set has a 45° and it needs a 90°. i put one of those "throwaway" hoses on it and the low side read in the green. the high side i never put my manifold set on but i decided to add another can to it and it took the whole can and still read in the green. AC is spot on now and prob the coldest i can remember.

Back in the day it was more of an issue since R-12 systems did not push on, but screw on and the low and high sides on lots of makes were of the same size. Put a can on the high side and it was kaboom time. And the R-12 when I was a lad was no higher then.99 cents a 12 oz. can usually lower then that and no pressure gauge at all either
the one i have does have had the trigger so you could control the flow. so it was more of a "hold the trigger for a couple seconds and release to check pressure". i got the manifold set for my 02 because it kept blowing out the high pressure sensor on the back of the compressor and i couldnt figure it out. even with a proper charge the ac would work fine and both numbers were ok. but give it a week or so and it would blow out. kind of summed it up to a bad compressor as the compressor started making some weird noises and needed to be replaced. so i traded in the truck lol

the electronics on all the new GMC/Chevy/FOAD pickups. I have no power windows, no PWR locks, no cruise control (kinda miss that) a solid column and no key FOB. I DO like that! lol!!!. Most V8 motors never make it to 500k like an old inline L-6 motor such as the 250 GM could do, if you ran the carb leaner and stuck with 3K oil/filter changes.
