Default BEST UPGRADES DONE ( part 2 ) GMC truck

Hey guys... I could not resist.. in making another thread here about Trucks and what upgrades everyone
are doing to them.... I see questions asked all the time when guys are having problems... but what about
when someone just wants to hop up or Up Grade what they have.. I think this thread would be handy for
others to get ideas... such as the one I have on the VAN forum....
so here is a pic of my GMC..... ( she is dirty right now ) lol
but lets talk about UPGRADES...

I put new lens's and hid headlights, led drl's, back up camera, with a nose cam as well, remote start (which now I can't live without and will be upgrading to a 2-way unit soon) I upgraded the shocks when it was clear the old ones were toast.

Transmission rebuild is in the planning stages, I plan to put a few upgrades into it. When the motor lays down (which may be awhile, it's only got 215k) I plan to do a few upgrades there too.

hicksvilleshick....... There ya go..... I have already did a Rebuild on my tranny... I had too...
It started with the truck moving at a stop light after already coming to a complete STOP... lol
it was almost like a CLUNK... movement forward... very strange... but after the tranny was rebuilt and
I got the call what the problem was it made since...
MAIN PLANATARY GEAR... crapped out... the Best UPGRADE I had done to the tranny
was a BIGGER PLANATARY GEAR... ( it now has 5 gears ) instead of 4.... and the CORVETTE
first gear Servo.... ( AWSOME ) no other word for that.. a stronger shift kit... 3 stronger springs... and
a BIGGER ( DEEPER ) trans PAN... and bigger Oil Cooler...
those are my upgrades... and its sweet now...

My son just picked up a 05 z-71 tahoe, so it's kinda getting all the love right now, we're getting it into the maintenance routine, it's got about the same mileage as my truck. About the only differences is his has a g-80 (mine does not even tho I've got the z-71 rpo code, I don't have the g80 rpo code) which has been swapped for a junk yard unit by the previous owner, his is geared 3.40 while mine is 3.73. My truck eats his trucks lunch on the regular. lol It doesn't help his has aftermarket wheels and tires.

I'm finally starting to get to keep more of my money since my kids are starting to fall off child support rules so actually having funds to fix/upgrade stuff has been nice.

where did you get these as well as the rear light housing? I’ve been looking for some black out light housings for my gray 99 Silverado extended cab but haven’t found ones that I completely like.
