Default Coolant crossover pipe...

Hello,

I have a 5.3L Vortec engine out of a 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 4WD. It has been swapped into a 1980 Jeep J10 Honcho pickup. (The entire powertrain was swapped, actually, but my question regards only the engine.)

On the engine, there's a small coolant pipe on the front of it that crosses from one side of the engine to the other. There's also a small "branch" pipe that comes off the right end of the pipe and connects to a rubber hose.

Where does that rubber hose connect to in the original vehicle? The person who did the swap (who in the interim has disappeared) simply put a rubber cap and a hose clamp over the end of the tube, and here we are 500 miles later with the rubber cap blown out and coolant spraying all over the inside of my engine compartment... 🙄

Here is a picture of the part I'm talking about.

I have no idea where to connect the other end of that rubber hose in the picture. If y'all could tell me where it's *supposed* to go in the original vehicle, maybe I could figure out where to send it in the Jeep.

Any help y'all can provide would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
