Do YOU know as guy? That knows a guy? 2WD conversion "MAYBE?"
Does anyone have a an idea or vast amount knowledge in regards to a selection of high quality "perhaps even performance engineered Front/CV axel options that could be fab'd and fitted to turn my work truck into an AWD, nimble, stealthy short wheel base 2000 gmc1500 road rocket??? Outside of the obvious SS Silverado's that came AWD i heard. "Never actually seem one". My search is a few weeks in and ive got my head in 3-4 rabbit holes all at the same time it seems. The goal is to find a production front wheel power delivery system that maybe was over engineered from which its sell point was marketed. Though the parts may never see more abuse that the occational parking curb or a speed bump that snuck up on someone, they hold the strength and quality with enough productions applications that make them readily avalibilty at junk yards across the map. Maybe something out of a minivan fwd or even a design for awd crossover type that have independent drive axels at each wheel.
Yes i will be first and the fastest to say this type of search/build is filled with let downs, and could blow a budget in the beans before it starts to grow from dream to reality.
_REASON : I WANT TO GO FAST IN MY SINGLE CAB BUT NOT JUST IN A STRAIGHT LINE!!!
Dont get me wrong there are a ton of swaps here in the H-TINE, H-town, Houston, TX, Home of the screwed up clic, clutch city, CUH that are hella fast and **** the soccer dads in mini-vans off to the point of a lesson lecture speeches from behind the steering wheel of that dream crushing dodge caravan! BUT im looking to build a high rev style road coarse hugger that is plain at first glance and jaw dropping in capabilities sue to suspension and drive line..
So my question is has anyone taken their 2WD and fitted it out with 1.AWD capable. 2.readily avalible 3. FActory production parts. Ans if so i would love to hear about the up and downs and what lead to the finale decision.
