I have a 2006 WT long box with the 4.3 engine and 4L60E trans 2 wheel drive . I want to swap in a 5.3 or 6.0 .
Which donor vehicle(s) would provide the components I need , (engine , wire harness , ECM , electronic gas pedal , ) ?
I am looking to purchase a running truck or suv for my donor vehicle . Which models and years are most compatible ?
I see a lots of gmc yukon denali with 6.0 engines . Would the ECM and wiring harness from the yukon work on the WT pickup ?
Any advice will be helpful .
I want to be able to put on a slide-on camper and pull a 2500 lb. boat .
My truck is in excellent shape , completely rust free and has the 8 foot bed that I need for the slide on camper ,
plus has new 4:10 rear axle , with heavier springs and rear air bags , The rolling chassis and body and 4l60E is already set up for
my needs . I just need a 2004-2006 L33 , LM7 , or LQ4 donor truck for the engine , wiring harness , and if needed the PCM module .

This is why I would rather do an engine swap instead of trying to find new truck with a V8 and long box . Long box trucks with v8 gas
engines in good shape are very rare around here . Its amazing how many 4.3 v6 long box trucks there are available , Lots !
