Started pulling my headliner today. Hardest part is the coat hooks. At the end i used 2 "hooked" paint can openers and just pulled.

Next issue. Windscreen was replaced a few years ago, and the headliner was glued in, in a few places along the top, by the black sealer they used. So it "cracked", if something this flimsy can "crack", when I pulled it down. Think its worth while reinforcing it from the backside with more fibreglass?

80 Grit drywall sandpaper, and a sponge sanding block worked better than a wire brush. Then rinse with water.

Looks good bro. I used a shop vac to clean where the fiberglass sheet separated and then used the same glue to attach the fiberglass back down. I dont think those cracks are that bad. But reinforcement wouldn't hurt...

Finally got it done
Finally got it done. FYI, if the adhesive says "re-positionable" be aware that the cheap a$$ headliner is NOT. The foam just pulls off the fabric.

Used commercial spray adhesive along windshield edge of headliner. Masked entire windshield and dash first. Corner and along side window didn’t quite hold. Picked up a small can of rubber cement. I think that’ll do the trick for touch ups on this 300,000 mile ‘06 2500HD. Gonna search forums on doing the visors - the fabric is disintegrating on them.
