Default Help!!

Recently replaced fuel injectors, intake and plenum gaskets, plugs, wires, distributor, high performance coil, icm and high flow k&n air intake. Truck starts and runs, has great throttle response now. Problem is now the tachometer, speedometer, transmission gear indicator aren’t working and transmission isn’t shifting. Not sure if this is the result from the work that was done or what. Had been having some electrical issues beforehand, plugging anything into the cigarette lighter would blow it’s fuse and dome lights weren’t getting power. I’ve seen a couple of videos saying it is the ignition switch harness? I’m thinking something simple that I’m missing, please help.

you didn't plug all the wires back in yet. check the transmission connector make sure it's plugged in. double check ground wires. etc.

CIGARETTE LIGHTER: they are cheap and an electrical issue in all cars including asian cars. they short out where the outlet is. REMOVE IT. never install another one. charge your iPhone some other way. I suggest not using your car battery for anythign except starting - so you don't end up being towed. But if you must - run reliable wires in the cabin and use a reliable 12V charger connection. there is no brand of "cigarette lighter" that isn't a problem. BTW: that's not an electrical issue with your truck - let's cancel that one out as "an issue".

after triple-checking your connectors especially the trans and shifter linkage or connector and sleeping on it ...

use your fuse panel. disable anything (including lighter) you can. you start chasing down an electrical issue by finding out which branch the problem is on.

in your case it seems impossible the trans doesn't shift unless you left off a connector.

Everything looks to be plugged in…cmp sensor at distributor, connector to coil, connector to icm, checked connectors at transmission. Scanner showing no codes. Scanner does show normal rpms but tach not working. Just not seeing any loose or disconnected grounds, etc
