I have done everything but take the carpet out of this truck to find an issue of a broke wire or something. Seat belt chime has never dinged nor has the key minder thing, thus I keep a spare key in my pocket. No passenger seatbelt wires at all, looks like the harness from the SRS module goes under the carpet at some point about middle of the seat. Only drivers seat has wires. Awhile back a burnt place appeared on the top of the carpet from a cook stove burner being lit too long an got hot, could it have messed up the wiring an just recently caused an issue after a lot of bumpy roads? Any other ideas??? 05 Silverado 2500HD

 

run a diagnostic scan on the SRS to see what the problem is

 

get a scan tool. clear out all the codes you may have set unplugging stuff. get the codes read in the sdm aka airbag module. post it here. then you know which circuit to chase. In most cases, an air bag load tool is required to find the fault.
