Default Noisy heater - A/C control?

First post... I have a 2006 Chevy 2500HD truck with a little bumping sound under the dash. I first thought it was the indoor fan motor, but I removed the fan cover (4 screws) and found the fan to be quiet. I then found the source of the noise... a little motor or control (i think) on the right side of the transmission hump. Looks like it has a few screws to remove it, but it's in a tight place to see well. Any ideas what this control or motor is? It is not the indoor fan motor. THANKS

I have a 2006 1500 that makes that noise at times too. But what gets me is while driving with a/c on it will turn HOT for no reason. I have to go to neutral, kill the engine and re start which is dangerous. Have you or anyone had this problem and know how to fix it??
