Default Possible head gasket problem?

My husband’s 2001 5.3LS has water inside cylinders 5&7, but the compression test is good. At first he thought it was the head gasket, now he’s not sure. Any ideas what the problem is? Thanks! Monica

They make a test kit where one can see if exhaust gases are present in the cooling system. Get one and follow the directions. If exhaust gases are present, then, most likely, there is a bad head gasket.
