imo any v6 mod won't touch putting in a 5.3L. if you had 4.8 i'd say supercharger

ive thought about doing a swap but i woulndt be able to do it my self and with everything that would need replacing i figured some mods on my v6 would be better, im not trying to go full race truck just more power than the stock amount and the sound of a cam.

The 4.3 is basically a 5.7 with two cylinders cut off, other than different throws on the crank. If you do the rebuild, most of the performance pieces for a 350 can be used, just make sure you double check the application when you look the parts up. Lots of different manifolds, carbs or fuel injection, headers available for the 4.3.

ill keep that in mind but im having electrical problems im trying to short out, my headlights were flickering so i changed my headlight switch then drove like that for a day and i went somwhere this morning and then hour later went to start my truck and had a dead battery and nothing would work when i was jumping it until i turned the headlights on and off and it started. And im rebiulding my 4 wheeler entirely as well.

You might be better off to sell your truck and buy one with a 5.3 liter. You would have more torque than a modified V-6 and then any future mods would increase the HP. Having said that I know how much we all like our trucks! But yes, you should rebuild it if you are going to mod the V-6.
