Add me to the list of "Tighten Fuel Cap" victims. After reading the replies I was curious if this would normally be covered under the standard 5 year/50,000 mile warranty coverage?? I am at 95,500 miles and my truck is a 2007.

Thanks!!

Jeff

2004 Chevy Silverado, 4.3L check engine light came on about every 2 months, small evap leak, replaced the gas cap, no luck in fixing the problem. Mine did not change the fuel mileage, so I just clear the code every two months. Started having problems when the vehicle had about 180,000 miles on it.

Default P0442 problem

I have a 2009 Silverado Crew Cab LS 5.3L with a check engine light on again for the third time since March 8, 2010. First it was a P0454, where the dealership replaced the fuel tank pressure sensor because it was severely corroded. The mileage was 31,971. The next time the check engine light came on was July 4, 2011. This time a code P0449 came up. The dealership said the fuel tank vent solenoid was not venting and they needed to install a new vent solenoid kit. The mileage was 69,532 this time and this was not covered under the emissions warranty nor the powertrain warranty. I was a little ticked since this was an emmisions code. Needless to say I paid them to replace it, $481.22 later. Not a week goes by and the light comes on again(July 17, 2011). This time a P0442 code comes up saying there is a small leak in the EVAP System. I am checking the work done by the dealership and will let you know the outcome. Obviously GM has a big problem with their fuel systems on various makes and models. I am a loyal Chevy Man but getting very frustrated with these problems on a truck that's not even 2 1/2 years old yet.

Default "Service Engine Light"

I have a 1993 Chevy Silverado K1500 and I am looking to rebuild it to better than factory. However I continue to have the "Service Engine" light come on with every key turn and it is using some serious fuel. I have the 350 cu in. in it and I am only getting at best 10mpg. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Default po445 code

My 2007 silverado has a po445 code. I changed the vent solenoid and put it where chevy recomended. I drove it about one mile and the light came back on. Still have the same code. Should i change the purge valve?
