You know I didn't even thing about accidentally dropping solder on the other wires and further damaging them. They all look brittle and too thin. Plus crimping is way faster. Thank sir

not just that, but solder tends to wick up the wires and make them brittle. It's not good in an environment with vibration. That's why you won't find any solder joints on a car. It's all crimped with strain relief.

So two cables to the TPS were shorting out touching each other. And one was completely torn. This caused the TPS to short out. Fixed the cables and put in a new TPS and we're back in business. Thx Mr. Joe

Great help, and this wasn’t even my problem, thanks everyone! The great thing about forums like these is that here is such an opportunity to learn. Who would’ve ever imagined torn TPS wires? Not I! If something like this ever happens to me, now I will know something to look for!

you can see the bare copper with my wires, the torn one was behind that.
