Default Start Mystery

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, and I am confident that you folks can help me out. I have a 2001 chevy Silverado 1500 would not start. Bench tested the starter and determined it was bad. replaced the starter and went to start the truck and got nothing. Started checking wires and was not getting power to activate the starter relay. decided I would get a neutral safety switch, so I had one before digging farther into the wiring between the starter relay and the ignition switch. Truck sat for two days waiting for me to get a minute to work on it. went out this morning to jump between relay terminals to start it so I could take it to the shop to work on it, and for kicks and giggles thought I would see if it would start with the key, and it fired right up. I am a little perplexed with what is going on with it. Any Ideas?

Welcome from Florida. It could be the starter relay or it isn't making a good connection where it plugs in.

Thanks oldchevy, I've switched the relays and nothing changed when I had the no start problem. Ill see if I can get a pick down in the socket and maybe tighten up the terminals, a little die-electric grease probably wouldnt hurt either.
