Whirling, whirring, or growling sound when kff
Hi all, new to the forums here, hoping you can help me and my black 2001 Silverado Spidey (venom version).
Long story short I forgot to plug it in during this last cold snap, and left a led usb charger on the AC plug in the cab. Came out the next day and she had zero power. Brought the battery Inside, waited a couple days then charged it up.
Now when I put the batter back in she ran fine, albeit with this wackey sound.
its definetely under the cab near the floor mat area, more so drivers side. Loudest is right under the seat, less so from the engine side. More so towards the fuel pump, which I replaced myself in the spring. Haven't had any issues before This. Sounds like a constant whirring, then when I start Spidey up it gets louder then cools off, but never stops. It's been about an hour and half since I hooked her up. No sign of changes.
I pulled the battery and will try it again tommorow when she's warmer.
But what is it? I saw on some other forums or could be the evaporative emmisions, and I did pull one of these codes a few months ago but it went away.... Or the fuel pump?
Either way what are the next steps to fix this. It wasn't happening before hand.

Do you know if the Silverado is equipped with an electric air pump as part of the emissions system? I know on my 2004 TrailBlazer, there is an electric air pump for emissions mounted on the frame rail underneath the driver's seat.
You might want to look underneath your truck to see if one is there.

it may be unrelated. make sure you check all your maintenance points - like oil levels
a dead battery, replaced with good, should not cause any problems. suspect it's a coincidence but the cold weather might not be
a stuck starter might - water and freeze can make them stick but you said it warmed up and melted i thought. still - the plunger could go and they can be replaced "easily" (so he said)
check your radiator fluid for specific gravity, and so on
