08 gmc AFM lifter failure
08 GMC Sierra put another crate engine from Chevrolet at 145000k this engine made it to 104000 oddly 4000 miles past the warranty. Both the engines the lifters failed and ruin the cam.
I'm doing this one myself has anyone seen the pushrods do this the dark ones or from the side for the lifter failed the light ones or from the side that kept running.
any input would be helpful since I am out the cost myself on this one

Now you know why my 1998 K-1500 is sticking with me. It all the Asian crap they are using now. It's not built as well as North American parts. I've put 309,000.on a 5.7 Chevy, and it was only using 1/2 quart of motor oil between changes and running fine, but I needed a 4x4, thusly my 98 K-1500 which uses no oil at all. No AFM junk on my pickup. I consider it foolish to use a motor of that kind. Cadillac tried it in the 1970's along with the 350 conversion to a diesel motor. Both were a freaking bad joke.

I believe it has to do with the flow of air through the pcv system. The side that gets the clean air is cleaner and the side that's darker gets the air after it has flowed through the engine and picked up vaporized oil particles.
