I have a 2012 2500HD that I have had for about 3 months. According to the information center that shows up in the dash, it showed an average of 12mpg. About 3 weeks ago I pulled my camper and while towing it went to an average of 8 mpg. Since returning home it still stays around 8.5 mpg. My question is why or what would cause it to not return to what it was previously before towing? Any Ideas I am open to hearing them.

reset the ic..take it on a highway drive. towing the trailer brought the average reading down. Its running fine....its all math/statistical data

 

Thanks for your reply, that was what I was hoping that it was. I did reset it the other day and it has gone some higher but I haven't been out on the road since then. It seems the average comes down a lot quicker than it goes up. LOL
