Hello all! I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500hd with the 6.0l gas motor around 210k miles. I bought this truck at 200k around 7 months ago.
It makes a clicking noise seemingly coming from the rear as best as I can hear out of my window.. it only makes this noise while reversing and it clicks faster as I roll faster. Sounds like a playing card in bike spokes but louder. Loud enough to get lots of looks when backing out of a parking space in a busy parking lot, but not loud enough to hear from the inside with windows up (thanks to the nearly sound proof cabin).
Also if I give it plenty of gas in reverse it will click rapidly for about 1-2 seconds then make a loud sudden clunk and stop clicking.
Does anyone have any good suggestions where I should start checking?
It seems to be driveline, brake/e-brake or wheel related
Well it seems the noise is the loudest near the front of the transmission 😵 again, it only makes the noise in reverse. Does anyone know if that could be torque converter related?
It is also getting worse rapidly because now as you can see in the video I'm having trouble just getting it into reverse and it's also rolling back a little then jamming somehow and stopping. The few times I gassed it were all in reverse and going no where for the most part.
