2008 silverado 1500 big problems.
i have a 2009 silverado, its not batteries, i have 2 batteries in mine, voltage will be fine and both batteries have been load tested and passed fine, some other electrical problem, mine has done that too and then if i leave it for more than 3 days it wont crank and lock the truck out yet my voltage at both batteries are fine
I have a 2008 silverado 1500 LT and in the past two months while driving the radio went dead, air bag light started to flash, gauges went crazy and the door locks continued to go up and down! Is it really the positive battery cable? The dealership Doesn't seem to know what the problem is?
Start by replacing the battery terminal ends (cheapest route). While you're at it remove the master fuse. Clean the ends and terminals and put it back together. I posted a picture of the bad crimp on the positive battery terminal from my truck back awhile ago. That was definitely the problem with mine. If that doesn't work, email me. I have a few other ideas for you.

No need to change the cables; just the ends. You may need to flip the battery around (as I did) to make the positive cable reach with the aftermarket end. For others with the same issue the fact is there is only ONE common thing regarding the door locks, gauges, engine power, radio, etc. and it's power. The engine is controlled by the ECM and the gauges and other accessories are controlled through the BCM. The possibilities are limited (battery, main fuse, battery cables, ignition switch). General Motors DOES know what the issue is. They saw the pictures I posted like everyone else. It's been two years and not even a light flicker from my truck.
I've seen everything from bad grounds and fried alternators to faulty fuse blocks and burned out light bulbs as the reason but one thing's for sure. I'm not taking it to a dealership just to pay a couple hundred bucks and find out they couldn't recreate the ****ing problem, thanks for coming out!
Anyway, my questions are:
Should I maybe do the negative instead of the positive (or both), since jiggling the negative seems to solve the issue?
Did you have to replace the wiring too, or just the terminal?
I'm electrically retarded so the less I have to screw around with, the better.
