2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 WT - 4.3L 262CI V6 FI - with a DR37 145A alternator
Educate me please.
The bearings on my alternator are toasted so I need to replace the alternator soon. I would like to upgrade it to 200A, or larger, and do an isolator, auxiliary battery pack, 110V inverter. I have a brand new SurePower isolator in storage but don't recall the model number. I was once told the particular isolator I have won't work with the stock alternator due to how it is wired or something like that. I know very little of auto electrical / charging systems. Going forward, are there specific things I should be looking for to be sure the alternator and isolator are compatible?
