2012 Silverado 5.3 4x4 crew cab fuel pump
Brand new fuel pump not pumping fuel but it turns in for 2 seconds thats it fuel lines are bone dry cant get any line pressure whats telling it to turn off i need help with this please. Just one day went to start it all it would 2 do is crank over same with new fuel pump .
just one guess i have seen on several videos is check to see if the fuel pump control module is working as it should but im guessing it should be if your not getting any codes out of it but couldn't hurt to check might turn on just long enough for the pump to run and then short out. Or you might have gotten a bad pump i know its new but i have horrible luck with new stuff not working at all or as intended. Might go threw and check fuses and relays have also seen that even if a relay clicks it might not be good not very common but something to know also check for a good ground.

Unless the vehicle computer receives a signal that the engine has started or oil pressure is up, the computer allows the fuel pump to run for only 2-3 seconds.
If the lines are dry you may need to do 2 or 3 key off then back on cycles to pressurize the lines. If it wont start after that , something else is wrong.
To confirm fuel is actually getting up to the cyls, remove one of the spark plugs and look at it. If it is wet , fuel is getting into the cyls. If not and it is dry , =no fuel.AND not necessarily a fuel pump problem.
If the plug is wet, then verify spark is getting to the plugs.Today's vehicles require the use of a capable scan tool to verify some functions and most folks don't have one so you are finished as far as that is concerned.
Fuel pressure for example, on newer vehicles does not allow for checking fuel pressure as we could do with older vehicles, must have a scan tool.
Instead of throwing parts and $$$ at it , consider having a good shop check it out for you.
