Default Fuel pump????? or what??

I own a 2000 silverado 2500,recently I left it idling and I ran it out of gas, filled it back up and wouldn't start. did a pressure check on the fuel and there was none so I went ahead and replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter and still won't start.. Checked the pump fuse and all is good.. Still getting no fuel pressure...Where should I turn to????

Sounds like it is ready for the junk yard! Just kidding. Are you getting power to the fuel pump? By the way how much was the fuel pump and how hard was it to put in?

dont think the relay is bad, because fuel cools the pump and lubercates it. the pump is probably dead.

Got a volt meter and checked the plug that connects to the pump. Doesn't seem to be getting power to the pump..Could it be the voltage regulator or is there any other fuses beside the one on the wheel well???? Or anything else I should check......Thanks in advance

Enstar, Here's some info that may help:

Circuit Description
When the ignition switch is turned ON, the vehicle control module (VCM) energizes the fuel pump relay which powers the the in-tank fuel pump ON. The in-tank fuel pump remains ON as long as the engine is cranking or running and the VCM is receiving the distributor reference pulses. If there are no reference pulses, the VCM shuts the fuel pump OFF within 2 seconds after the ignition was turned ON or if the engine stops. The VCM will also turn ON the fuel pump when the ignition is turned to the OFF position.

If your fuel pump does not run for 2 seconds when you turn the ignition on and off, you need to look at the relay. The fuel pump relay is in the underhood electrical center (fuse & relay box) Its location is on the cover.

Ron , Thanks for the info, I believe I tried changing the relay with the air condition relay since they both seem to be the same... the relay is the silver box like fuse with four prongs???? located in the engine electrical box..Didn't seem to make a difference... Any other suggestions??? thanks in advance
